FOLLOWING TYPES OF POWER DOOR LOCKING

SYSTEMS:

A. VACUUM OPERATED POWER DOOR LOCKS

B. DOOR LOCKING SYSTEMS REQUIRING KEY

LOCKING OFTHE DRIVER’S DOOR IN ORDER TO

REMOTELY LOCK THE OTHER DOORS.

NOTE: OPTIONAL KIT PDA-1 IS AVAILABLE FOR

BOTH THE ABOVE APPUCATIONS.

INSTRUCTIONS (ALL VEHICLES)

1. Remove driver's door panel for access to existing

power door switch wiring.

2. Mount the moduie in the kick panel area of the driver's

side of the vehicle.

3. Route the wires into the driver's door using the

easting wiring tube as access.

4. Examine the existing power (toor lock switch in the

driver’s door to determine which wiring method must

be used. The door switch wiil be one of the following:

A. 3-Wire Positive Switched Lock (Most GM vehicles)

B. 3-Wire Negative Switched Lock (Some Ford &

foreign vehicles).

C. 4 or 5-Wire Polarity Reversal Lock (Most Ford &

Chrysler & some GM).

D. The use of a voltage test meter or test light wiii be

required to determine which of the three types of

switches is in your vehide.

a. 3-Wire Positive Switched Locks: One wire will

be 12V positive at ail tirrres, one wire wili be 12V

positive when the switch is in the 'lock* mode, and

the last wire wiil be 12V positive when the switch

is in the "unlock' mode.

b. 3-Wire Negative Switched Locks: One wire wili

be grounded at all times, one wire wiU be ground

ed when the switch is in the 'lock' mode, and the

last wire will be grounded vrhen the switch is in the

'uniock' mode.

c. 4 or S-Wire Polarity Reversal Locks: One wire

wili be 12V positive at all times, one or two wires

wiii be grounded at ali times. Ali the remaining

wires will be 12V positive when the switch is in one

of the two positions (iock or unlock) and vriil

reverse to ground when the switch is moved to

the other position (in some cars, they wiii be 12V

positive in the 'iock' position and ground in the

'uniock* position or just the opposite in other

cars).

E. Once you have identified which type of iocks you

have, you must mark what the wire did (kick,

unlock, 12V, Ground, etc.).

F. With an the above completed refer to the Wiring

Diagram that is applicable to your door lock switch

and wire the unit as shown.

G. When the lock wiring is completed, test system

using the lock-unlock remote control transmitter. If

the door locking and unlocking action is reversed

from the other alamn functions, you must reverse

the lock-unlock spliced wires (example: door un

locks when you use the transmitter to arm the

alarm and lock when you disarm the alarm).

B. LES SYSTÈMES DE VERROUILLAGE DE PORTES

NÉCESSITANT LE BLOCAGE PAR CLÉ DE LA

PORTE DU CONDUCTEUR AFIN DE POUVOIR

VERROUILLER À DISTANCE LES AUTRES

PORTES.

NOTA: LE KIT PDA-1 EN OPTION EST DISPONIBLE

POUR LES DEUX CAS DÉCRITS CI-DESSUS.

NOTICE DE MONTAGE (POUR TOUS LES

VÉHICULES)

1. Démontez le panneau de la porte du conducteur pour

accéder au câblage existant de finterrupteur de

verouillage électrique des portes.

2. Montez le module dans la partie inférieure du panneau

du véhicule côté conducteur.

3. Acheminez les fils dans la porte du conducteur en

passant par le tube de câblage existant.

4. Examinez l'interrupteur existant de verrouillage

électrique de portes sur la «porte côté conducteur

pour déterminer ia méthode de câblage à adopter.

L'interrupteur de porte est Tun des interrupteurs

suivants:

A. Venouillage de portes à 3 fils par impulsion

positive (la plupart des véhicules GM).

B. Verrouillage de porte à 3 fils par impulsion négative

(certains modèles Ford et véhicules étrangers).

C. Verouillage de porte à 4 ou 5 fils à polarité inversée

(la plupart des modèles Ford et Chrysler et certains

modèles GM.

D. Il est nécessaire d'utiliser un voltmètre ou un

voyant d'essai pour savoir quel type d'interrupteur,

parmi les 3 types, est utilisé sur votre véhicule.

a) Verrouillage de portes à 3 fils par impulsion

positive: Un fil est constamment au 12V positif,

un fil est au 12V positif lorsque l'interrupteur est

en position "verrouillage' ('lock'), et le dernier

fil est au 12V positif lorsque l'interrupteur est en

mode 'déverrouillage' ('unlock').

b) Verrouillage de protes à 3 fils par Impulsion

négatuve: Un fil est à la masse en perma

nence, un fil est à la masse lorsque l’intenupteur

est en position 'verrouillage' et le dernier fil est

à la masse lorsque l'interrupteur est en position

'dévenouillage*.

c) Verrouillage de porte à 4 ou 5 fils à polarité

Inversée: Un fil est 12V positif en permanence,

un ou deux fils sont à la masse en pennanence.

Tous les fils restants sont en 12V positif lorsque

l'interrupteur est dans l'une des deux position

(venouillage ou déverrouillage) et reviennent à

ta masse lorsqu'on met l'interrupteur sur l'autre

position (sur certains voitures, la position

"verrouillage ' correspond au 12V positif et la

masse à la position 'déverrouillage' ou l'inverse

sur d'autres voitures).

E. Après avoir identifié le type de venouillage de

votre véhicule, il faut marquer la fonction de chaque

fil (verrouillage, déverrouillage, 12V, mise à la

masse).

F. Une fois toutes ces opérations terminées, reportez-

vous au schéma de câblage conespondant au

verrouillage de votre porte et câblez Pappareil

comme indiqué.

G. Le câblage du venouillage terminé, testez le

système en utilisant ia téiécommande à distance

verrouiliage-déverrouiliage. Si l'action de

verrouillage et de dévenouillage sont inversées

par rapport aux autres fonctions de t'alarme, il faut

inverser les fils coupés de verrouillage-

déverrouillage (exemple: la porte se déverrouille

lorsque vous utilisez l'emetteur pour armer ralarme

et se verrouille lorsque vous désarmez l'alarme).
