MESSAGE OPTION
This feature automatically answers a call when you are
not in the vehicle with one of two messages. To prevent
discharging your battery, the message feature is
deaaivated after 3 hours, when the ignition switch is
again turned to “on” or “accessory,” or ’when memory
addresses 31 through 38 are full of numbers.
Message #1:
“Helk), this is ********** xhis phone is unattended at
the moment. If urgent, please call ********** Thankyou.”
(Tone)
Message #2:
“Hello, this is ********** 7his phone is unattended
at the moment. After the tone, please key in your number.
Ihen press the asterisk key. Your call will be returned.
Thank you." (Tone)
********** ^ telephone number determined by you (see
the follovdng paragraphs).
When You Choose Message #1
1. Store your car telephone number in address 39, and the
number where you can be reached in address 40.
2. Press , then the numeral 1,
3. Turn off the ignition s’wiich, but leave the car telephone
power switch ON. If necessary; lock the unit.
4. The unit w4ll now respond to calling panics with
message *1.
When You Choose Message #2
1. Store your car telephone number in address 39.
2. lYess , then the numeral 2.
3. Turn off the ignition switch, but leave the car telephone
power switch ON. If necessary, lock the unit.
4. The unit will now respond to calling parties with
message #2. The telephone numbers of calling parties
are stored in memor^^ addresses 31 through 38 (ii\the
order received).
5. Turn the ignition switch to the “on” or “accessory”
position when you return to the vehicle. Thef^O light
will be lit if a call was received. You can then recall
each number by pressing | —(memory
address)- [ШШ .
NOTE
Received numbers will remain in memory^ kx'ations 31-3H until
the next time you wish to use the me.ssage option, by
repeating steps 1 and 2 of either of the above prcK'edures,
Vtlien the Mes.sage Option feature is again selected, existing
numbers in memory addresses 31 through 40 are erased.
HANDS-FREE (HEADSET)
OPERATION (optional)
1. After originating or receiving a call (press ISENPj
to answer), or during the con\'ersatit>n, press
[HANDS free] . The indicator will light.
2. Conduct the conversation via the headset. At the end of
the call, press |HANDS FRE^ or ¡ENDl to terminate
the call. The indicator will go out.
IMPORTANT SAFETY
INFORMATION
Please read and follow these c-autions carefully:
TURN OFF your unit in an explosive atmosphere (near
a fuel pump, blasting area, etc.).
DO NOT operate your unit when someone is within
two feet (0.6 meter) of your antenna.
DO NOT dial when your vehicle is mo%ing in those
states where this action is illegal (this is not a prudent
practice, even where it is legal).
DO NOT permit untrained personnel to operate the
unit.
WARNING
'iTie following offenses can be punished by fine,
imprisonment, or both:
Using ob.scene, indecent, or profane language.
• Using the unit to give off false distress calls.
• Wiretapping or otherwi.se intercepting a telephone call,
unless that person has first obtained the consent of the
parties participating in the call,
• Making anommous calls to annoy, harass, or molest
other people.
Charging to an account without authorization to avoid
payment for serxice,
• Refusing to yield a party line when informed that it is
needed for an emergency call, (ft is also unlawful to
take over a party’ line by stating falsely that it is needed
for an emergency).
