Gasoline Engine cont’d
MAKE THE POINT:
Flexible Fuel (E85) Capability
The 6.2L V8 offers Flexible Fuel (E85) capability. This allows the engine to operate on E85 fuel — a blend of
85 percent ethanol fuel and 15 percent unleaded gasoline. The 6.2L V8 can run on E85 fuel, regular unleaded gasoline or
anycombinationofthetwo.It’simportanttonotethatwhileoperatingonE85,the6.2LV8willalsodelivermeasurably
less fuel economy. This is normal, since E85 has less energy as a fuel, it takes more E85 to make the same power as
unleaded gasoline.
Why it’s important
TheprimarybenefitsofE85fuelarethatit’smadefromrenewableresourcestohelplowerourdependenceon
imported oil and lower greenhouse gas emissions.
